Me n Kookie went over to this guy's to take pics to sell the house. Couldn't get close but with the high res pic, still sharp after cropped :)

When taking pics of a house outside it really needs to be sunny but they wouldn't let me wait a couple days

Didn't exercise today. I waited a week for a decent day. I wanted to get a great pic of Mt. P. in the fall.. today Oct 31st

The sky had these clouds so I just sat on a spot (by the blue suite case) for about an hour till the sky cleared. 

I took about 20 pics until I got it just right. This will be a classic photo of Mt. P. for an enlargement.

What do you mean we can't go to the park 

 I have waited for the clouds to move to get sunlight on a background, waited weeks for a nice day or months for the planets to be just right to get a pic

When u want a pic of you n the Pup in an iconic background... well you need to paste a bit.

If you want a great pic of the leaning rock, it must be a sunny day late in the afternoon

Going through old albums

Nov 2010 Me n PuppyDog riding around taking pics.

Proof we took it before they burned it down... hmmmm the yellow Jeep Hood.

I have several pics of the old grandstand nice prints could be made from in this album

Looking at the file size you could decide how large a print could be made and remain sharp.

I think this is the bridge me n my brother road over on a wizard motorbike to get eggs when we were kids :)

So nice outside if I finish in the dungeon me n Kookie will take a ride. Our sidewalk is covered with leaves.. need someone with a rake to make a pile to jump in :)

To capture Kookie jumping in the truck I selected 10 pics per sec.

Most blurry but ok

Looking through the west last nigt I saw the big orange sky through the trees. I need a grape vine to swing from my roof to Mt. P. 

Having Enlargements printed

Through the years I have had some iconic photos captured and people really like them. I thought I might have some printed n try to sell em.

If you are going to have enlargements printed what is the best medium 

Canvas has all those little lines.. in times past glossy paper was used to produce the sharpest images

Now they are printing on wood, glass, plastic, cloth .. duh

her problems prints faded, cracked curled..

Only framed pics are behind glass, while the various types of media might be sharp.. dust can settle on them and wiping might eventually dull the print.

What is the ideal media to have enlargements printed on, if you had a magic lamp to rub?

Christmas lights

 

If you are going to see the lights so many people do not use the camera light.

Check the weather to pick a day.

If you can take a friend along to see them too and they can be your photographer.

Get far enough away that the whole background you want to include is in the frame.

Move the subjects so they are about 7' from you.

When ever the background is brighter (backlit) you will be a shilloutte (guy in the top pic)
You must use your camera light and if you have a regular camera the light will be brighter.

The effect the light has depends on distance. Move closer or further away from the subject and experiment.

Rain today, spent most of the day in the dungeon.. looking out the window at the leaves falling .. how many days till spring 

When I tie Kookie up she tempts people to give her pets. I found the zapper n need to get some pics of someone wrestling with her :)

I had em posed but one of the girls had this idea much better, the sky was drab so I cropped em to eliminate as much sky as possible #risingpark

I told the kids down on the rock to turn around so I could send their mom a pic of em .. they just laughed #risingpark

I had a lens hood on and it gave shadows on all the pics so I had to air brush the corners but this one came out pretty nice inspite of the sky #risingpark

 I think photo shop (image editing app) is a necessary tool in photography. If you like painting it is such fun and can fix mistakes :)
I use Paint Shop.  The older versions sell for less than $50 and work great.

Gotta quit goofing off n do my stuff in the dungeon

 

 

 While the weather is kind of nice, if you wanna do a photo shoot...

Might go to Mt. P. Friday or Saturday Oct 16/17

When the leprechauns haven't been going to the bank for a long time they find many places to bury their gold :) #risingpark

 

I figured the sky would turn out just right and returned to Mt. P to check it out. I didn't think I would find anyone to pose so I used Kookie as my model 

For a window in time there was a beautiful girl but she was whisked away  :) #risingpark

After the sun sets on a clear night, the sky often looks like this. It was what I hoped for and asked two couples to do a pic.. this perfect to me. #risingpark

Wind n the Jeep.. wild hair using weak flash rotating panning the city lights a blur .. magic background.
Photography is painting with light with paint brush as a tool  what ever you can imagine.

Because of the virus I cut my own hair in the spring, guess I will keep on doing it.. nothing can make me pretty now  

I did want to get a pic of me n Kookie on top with the camera in the fairgrounds.. but no photographer.. maybe if I make it till next year :)

Waited months to capture the sun rising directly behind Mt. P.

When I got there surprise they were having a junior fair and I couldn't set up where things would not move in front of the camera. I will do a video of the shots in a time lapse.

Got up early n didn't work out so I will go back later tonight. Kookie is snoring making me sleepy.. maybe a nap :)

Come n give Kookie some pets :).

Saw this guy taking a pic of the kid n pups and asked if I could get a pic of all of them together. Because of the time of day I knew there would be harsh shadows, so I took a pic from them toward n back to the sun.

Only if I could find solid shadow could I avoid the mix of sun but it was more about capturing the moment in a bottle a guy, kid n pups on top of Mt. P. :)

Asked this girl for a pic, it turned out pretty nice but I should have had the polarizing filter on to control the background n make the sky blue.

Had to have an eye test n got my flu shot so it was an excuse to go to the park for pics.
These were the first pups I asked for a pic.

Just before sunset the sun was super orange n asked this little girl for a pic of her n her pup. Mentioned I come here all the time.. hmmm .. wished I would have experimented a bit .. loved the silly puppy protecting her :) #risingpark

 Haven't been in town for days but I had my kid help me put the doors on the Jeep so I loaded Kookie up n went to town for some pics.

Kind of drab and didn't see anyone to ask.. so I waited a bit and the sun peeked under the cloud and I saw these guys on the way down..  n asked em for a shot .. #risingpark
