The sky was at it's best just before leaving and the city lights below. I had to goof with the settings and finally got it just right #risingpark
These guys were down on the rock. of course the flash could not light up the ground and the sun was not behind em, but me n Kookie couldnt get close #risingpark

When planning an outdoor photo, you need to look at the weather forecast and sky conditions.
Where will the sun rise and set, the moon.. each day of the year is the same, year after year
With this app you can move the slider for any hour of the day :)

The last pic at sunset on the far end, I asked to get a shot n Mick said hurry the sun is almost gone ...
When people take sunsets they do not notice how small the sun appears in the photos. With a telephoto you can make it much larger.
The sunset is pretty cool but there is often a short drab period of the sky then it becomes a spectacular multi color glow.
If you wait a bit longer and the sky is dark you can get a pretty good shot of your pals with the city lights in the background, just use fill n flash.

I suppose I have been into photography before most readers here ever existed. Late in life I returned to Rising Park with my camera n Pup.
It is not much fun taking photos if you can not share your great 'art' with others.
Most of my photos are of total strangers but for a short period a park dweller returned n let me photograph her :)

When doing pics of strangers you kind of have to hurry n let em escape but can take your time and get it just right if someone is willing to be a bit patient.
The sky was just like this, I cropped TheMick n left her untouched but added a paint brush effect to the sky.
Because of depth of field, she is n focus and the sky a bit out of focus.

There were so many pics to chose from. The one I liked best was the first one I took (already posted) This one same as above.
I don't know how long I will continue after 2020 but wanted to make it this year.. "my great year" but you see how that turned out for everyone :)
Most of the time it is just me n the Pup who makes it to the top but on one night TheMick n her mom were there talking to me as I set my camera on a rock and recorded this video.
I recorded the sun setting but reversed it to make a 'sunrise' and added the music "Here comes the sun" .. a shot of happy to those spring nights.

I have so many pic of TheMick because she was the one person who came back n let me play photographer.
9/23 is her orbit day so I will leave these pics here but if there is any hint, I will delete this patch of pics.
Long ago I had my own kids to take pics of and doodle in pshop but some dorky guys whisked em away n the same with TheMick ... that is why Puppies r better than kids :)

Yesterday I saw someone post they wanted grad pics and some action shots.. B4 taking Kookie to the vet I did a little demo.
Plates n focus, pup a blur
To capture an action shot, you need a fast shutter speed
Flash contributes also but needed to get to town.. the vet n 2 the park to get some pets.

Had to take Kookie to the vet 2day so we stopped at the park to get a couple pics

I knew I couldnt get a good shot shooting into the sun.. but wanted to capture Kookie with her new pals #risingpark
Girl had a gadget that let her do video and level the camera. It was about an hour before sunset I tried to talk her into moving to my position and take video of the girl there. She was shooting into the sun so I knew much of her video was a silhouette. If you wanna take pics/video facing west, you have to do that in the morning #risingpark
First going up the path after making the dog leg to the right I saw these guys on top, one of the best I have ever got from below with little back lighting flare #risingpark
As soon as I pick up the keys, Kookie goes wild and runs all around the yard picking up a stick .. a blur but I did a quick draw with the camera #risingpark

Teacher, nurse n computer job I think, only one pumpkin left in Ohio.
The only people I see mostly are when I buy stuff or visit Mt. P.
In these days we lived in a little house and had a well for water and a pump room. There is where I had a dark room :)

Metro Park Rockbridge Hocking College class room, catching and cataloging critters :)
Sign said no boats, no swimming but there were no wading signs :) Metro park .
The Jeep hasn't been washed since I took the top off in May. I have been trying to talk someone into cleaning, hoping for a car wash but it didn't happen so I made Kookie wash the Jeep.

I live on a hill out n the country and have to go to town to see the sunset, this is as close as I get, seeing the sun filtered through the trees.. Mt. P #risingpark is where my camera captures the sun but Kookie has some kind of virus and people might have another kind :(.

I was doing time lapse it will make a little silly video and I was waiting for the sun to be just right n these guys came n gave Kookie pets, I wanted to get pics of em with her wrestling but..
Other than these guys I took pics of two groups before they left.. using their cameras.. was gonna do another couple girl gonna have a baby.. ugh forgot..sorry
